Introduction
The Treehouse, a cozy cabin located on 12 acres of private property in Bastrop County in central Texas, offers you a secluded and peaceful place to enjoy the sounds and sites of nature.

Nestled among the trees, this hide-away is just 5 minutes from downtown Smithville, 20 minutes from Bastrop and 1 hour from Austin. But you’ll think you’ve traveled hundreds of miles to find this serene setting.

Relaxing on the upstairs deck, you’ll enjoy the sites of the bountiful species of birds, the colors of beautiful butterflies and the sounds of nature.


If you’re more in the mood for a little exercise you can take a short hike to the creek and dip your toes in the spring-fed waters. You may decide to take your lawn chair with you and sink your feet in the water while gazing at the trees that canopy above you. Occasionally a fish may find it’s way to your resting place or a bird might land to drink from the cool water. Just remember you’re in their territory! You will be completely surrounded by nature at it’s best.
The Colorado River is just a short distance away should you decide to continue on your journey. If you enjoy canoeing or kayaking, the creek will lead you directly to the Colorado River where you can paddle downstream. Along the river you will find natural vegetation that includes willow, cottonwood and mesquite trees. A public boat ramp, where you can end your trip on the creek, is located at the VFW which is not too far downstream.

When you’re ready to antique shop, you have but a short trip to historic Main Street Smithville where several antique stores are located. There are other places to visit in Smithville such as several restaurants and also many sites that were used in the filming of the movie Hope Floats. Or perhaps you’ll want to catch a movie in Bastrop. But be forewarned....once you’ve arrived at The Treehouse, you may never want to leave!

The Treehouse is located on Farm Road 2571 between Bastrop and Smithville. Once you have made your reservations, you will be given exact and simple directions.

The Treehouse is equipped with everything you’ll need to make your trip enjoyable and relaxing. All your linens are provided, all cooking utensils, appliances, bar-b-que grill, picnic table, TV, stereo, VCR player and sleeping accommodations for as many as 10.

Looking for a romantic get-away for you and a special someone, the stone fireplace in the main room will provide that added touch for a very enchanting evening. You’ll be sharing your space with only those you choose as The Treehouse is a single-family unit. The cabin also has central air and heat.
Additional space beneath The Treehouse will add to the hospitality of the cabin. The covered slab also has outdoor speakers from the stereo (as does the deck upstairs), it is equipped with electrical outlets and has hot and cold running water. Children find this a great place to play and adults a great place to gather and cook on the outside grill.

Bring your bikes as you may want to venture out on the country road and take in a closer look at the beautiful countryside.

The Treehouse is quaint, charming and available for you and your family. The Treehouse has one bedroom, one bath, kitchen, dining room and living room. It comfortably sleeps up to 10 people.

Nearby Attractions
Shop at nearby Historic Smithville, famous for its antique shops and the home of the filming of the movie "Hope Floats". There are five public golf courses within a few miles of The Treehouse. Two large State Parks are nearby to add additional hiking and outdoor recreation.

In the area, you might wish to take a day trip to visit the Painted Churches, the Shiner Brewery, or canoe on the Colorado

Extra Information
Children and well-behaved canine friends are always welcome! The deck has a railing and a gate that is perfect for children and pets.

The Treehouse Cabin is the only facility on the property, so you have the place all to yourself during your visit!

The Treehouse is only 3 miles West of Smithville, 45 minutes from Austin and 1-1/2 hours from Houston and San Antonio. But when you get there, you feel you are miles away from your stresses.

Deposit, Taxes and Fees
To secure your reservations, a deposit of 1/2 of the lodging is due at the time of making your reservations. The balance is due at check-in and can be paid in cash, check, or credit card (VISA/Mastercard),
Please note: This payment policy does not apply to weddings and special events, which is paid in full at time of reservation. Please contact us early during your event planning stages for information and reservations.
RATES (per night, excluding state hotel tax):
1-2 Guests $135.00
3-4 Guests $165.00
5-7 Guests $195.00
8-10 Guests $ 225.00

$15.00 nightly charge for each additional guest. Rates are subject to change without notice. Two day minimum. Prices subject to increase during holiday and peak periods, such as Spring Break, MS150 bike race and antique week. Additional rates apply for special events, additional tent/camper/trailer usage.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Our policy is intended to be fair to our guests, yet prevent the loss of income to our business. The Treehouse is rented by advance reservations only. Once we reserve the cabin for you, we remove it from the market, refusing all other requests.

For cancellations received 14 days or more prior to arrival, deposit may be applied to stays from Sunday night through Wednesday night, and is valid for one year from date of cancellation, excluding holidays and special events.

For cancellations received less than 14 days prior to arrival, no refunds will be made.

The Treehouse Cabin is a delight in the different types of weather and seasons. We cannot be held responsible for the weather being satisfactory to everyone. Keep in mind the old saying about Texas...If you don't like the weather...just wait, it'll change soon.
